Department for International Relations serves as the hub for the internationalization of the University of Žilina. It coordinates the university’s international cooperation, develops strategic partnerships, and fosters the engagement of students and staff within the international academic environment.

The department manages the Erasmus+ program, coordinates activities for the PIONEER alliance, prepares and administers international agreements and partnerships, supports international projects, and contributes to the development of joint study programs including those leading to double or joint degrees. Furthermore, it cultivates collaboration with universities, public institutions, local government bodies, and other partners both domestically and abroad with the aim of strengthening the university’s international standing and appeal.

The PIONEER Alliance aims to shape the future of inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and provide students in all forms of study specialized knowledge and skills in a European environment.
